Newburgh is a city that is resurging from hard times. It’s future is going to be awesome thanks to dedicated people like the clergy and staff at St. Patrick’s Church.
Last weekend we had a chance to photograph a wedding at this landmark with over a 100 year history, starting with Irish immigrants that by the 1960’s had welcomed Newburgh’s large Latino community into its flock.
Father Patrick Bonner presided over the ceremony, and he was very outgoing, giving us photographers a lot of freedom to setup our equipment and photograph the ceremony with flash units. He seems to take great joy in marrying couples and we were delighted by his smiling face in these “now you may kiss the bride” shots:
