For Hudson Valley Christian weddings steeped in history, consider Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kingston, NY.
Located at 72 Spring Street at the edge of Kingston’s Rondout-West Strand Historic District, the church occupies a quiet corner of town where your wedding is not likely to be upstaged by passing automobile traffic or crowds.
Inside, the church carries over the warm tones of its red brick exterior with off-white woodwork and red carpeting.
Presiding over weddings at Trinity is the Reverend Paul M. Britten, an affable man who might even attend your reception (as he did our client’s recent event). A traditionalist, the Reverend Britten doesn’t allow flash photography at his church — nothing to distract from the sacred nature of the wedding ceremony.
While non-flash photography may pose a challenge to photographers, we found shooting inside Trinity a pleasure and we had no trouble capturing these shots:
There is a garden which runs in an L-shape around the church which provides plenty of opportunities for portrait shots, especially when the weather cooperates as it did for us when we took this shot:
We loved especially the facade of the church with its arched and column doorways that create the perfect framing for the bridal party to be showered with rice and confetti — details that add a very classy, Old World feel to your wedding photographs.
