Tucked away off a small road along the Route 9 in Highland, NY, The Would Restaurant can host your outdoor ceremony and reception in its pavilion and event tent.
Originally the Hotel di Prima built in 1926, The Would Restaurant maintains the former establishment’s original brick buildings. We’ve heard people say that if it weren’t for the large sign out front, you might mistake the location for an old police station or rectory, and judging from this view below they could be right:
Further down the long driveway is where the action begins, at the Would’s bar and restaurant building. A sheltered front porch provides excellent cover on rainy or hot days, and cocktails can be staged here as well.
Further back on the property, there is a long pavilion which can be the setting for your cocktail hour and even your ceremony when the weather refuses to cooperate (in good weather, ceremonies take place out on the Would’s expansive back lawn).
Receptions take place in a large white event tent on a corner of the property adjacent to the pavilion. The tent can hold over 100 guests, and there’s ample space for a band, DJ, and dancing.
The Would’s grounds also feature a fountain and pond which can be used as a backdrop for couple creatives.
Behind the pavilion and the tent is a lawn that seems to stretch off into the mountains that border the Hudson River. The lawn makes for a romantic, breathtaking background for your wedding portraits and bridal party formals. Even on a day with rain and intermittent sunshine, we enjoyed shooting here.
The Would’s staff is also very friendly and helpful. Here’s a shot of the team guiding our bride and her family through the rain to her ceremony.
Finally, the Would has a guest room where brides can get ready for their nuptials. Here’s a sample of our getting ready coverage from inside.
We’re looking forward to shooting your wedding at The Would. Give us a call at (845) 905‑6323 to book your date, or book online at http://www.duetimage.com/contact.
