Owner Tammy Basten, a former wedding planner whose events have been featured in New York Bride and Martha Stewart weddings, describes herself as a “Chief picker & curator, and lover of all things vintage. Rustic. Funky.” When she started out in the wedding business over 20 years ago, she raided her parents’ barn for vintage accents to incorporate into her events. Over the years, her collection of vintage items has grown extensively, and today her firm can provide vintage china and dinnerware for up 200 guests … along with a whole lot else.
Sofas, cake pedestals, tables, chest of drawers, rugs, barrels, suitcases, bicycles, sleds, farm tools, washboards, scales, railroad lanterns, cigar boxes and peanut jars from brands that no longer exist, mirrors, soap boxes, chalkboards. If you need it, she’s probably got it.
Hudson Valley Vintage Rentals has a showroom which brides and wedding planners can peruse after an initial consultation. Tammy likes to get to know each event individually and to coordinate a unique look for every wedding she services.
Vintage brides take note: Tammy recommends that reservations be made early, from 4 to 12 months before your event. Minimum rentals are $300 (at the time of this writing) and items can be delivered within a 1.5 hour radius of Accord.
